Open Inning<\/h2>\n

Current Rule:<\/p>\n

Limitless open inning.<\/p>\n

New Rule:<\/p>\n

Suggest capping open inning at 10, 15, or once through the order. The game is no longer fun when getting thumped in the last inning by a
\nsuperior team, with no end in sight unless they finally concede to giving you mercy outs.<\/p>\n

Four Consecutive Balls<\/h2>\n

Current Rule:<\/p>\n

Tournament rule- double walk after 4 straight pitches.<\/p>\n

New Rule:<\/p>\n

Leave it as a typical walk. It makes the game too slow and less
\nenjoyable when people are looking for the walk.<\/p>\n

Courtesy Runners<\/h2>\n

Current Rule:<\/p>\n

Tournament Rule 11. Maximum of three (3) courtesy runners per game. The courtesy runner must be the same gender as the player they are substituting.
\n**Should the Umpire give any team a courtesy runner, medical
\nexemption, based on his\/her discretion, the opposing team must also
\nbe given a courtesy runner exemption for a player of their choosing.<\/p>\n

New Rule:<\/p>\n

Three male courtesy runners and three female courtesy runners, not three in total.<\/p>\n

Number of Runs for Mercy<\/h2>\n

Current Rule:<\/p>\n

Each team\u2019s inning at bat will be considered complete when they have
\nthree (3) players called out or when they have scored a maximum of
\nfive (5) runs in that inning. This rule will not apply to each team\u2019s last
\nturn at bat; in this case, each team will be allowed to bat until three (3)
\nplayers are called out.<\/p>\n

New Rule:<\/p>\n

Each team\u2019s inning at bat will be considered complete when they have
\nthree (3) players called out or when they have scored a maximum of
\nSEVEN (7) runs in that inning. This rule will not apply to each team\u2019s
\nlast turn at bat; in this case, each team will be allowed to bat until three
\n(3) players are called out.
\nReason: when we had the 7-run mercy, it seemed that there were more
\nat bats per player (4 or 5 per game) and more chances for plays in the
\nfield. With the 5-run mercy, people typically have 3 at bats per game.<\/p>\n

Outfielders Throwing to First Base<\/h2>\n

Current Rule:<\/p>\n

Being able to throw people out at first base from the outfield\/ rover
\npositions.<\/p>\n

New Rule:<\/p>\n
